December 2008: Genesis 2008

IP Pragmatics exhibited at the recent Genesis conference in London. Genesis is one of the biggest biotech conferences in the UK and this year's event began with a stimulating plenary session followed by an excellent set of parallel meetings. The event provided the opportunity for IP Pragmatics to showcase its expanded team and to meet with new and existing clients in both the academic and corporate sectors.

October 2008: IP Pragmatics opens an office in New Zealand

IP Pragmatics has expanded its consulting team with the addition of Dr Karin Schofield and the opening of a new office in Palmerston North, New Zealand. IP Pragmatics have worked with a number of clients in NZ and Australia and are seeking to strengthened their position in the Southern Hemisphere.

September 2008: Consulting team and IP Services Team are expanded with two new Managers

IP Pragmatics is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Louise Sarup as Senior Business Development Manager and Jon Kirtland as NetsPat Client Manager. Prior to joining IP Pragmatics Louise was Vice President, Business Development with Paramount BioSciences where she worked on in-licensing clinical stage opportunities for Paramount's portfolio companies. Prior to Paramount Louise worked in Biotech/Life Science PR and marketing. She gained experience of commericialising early stage technologies as part of UCL BioMedica UCL's technology transfer company. She has a PhD in BioChemical Engineering from the University College London.

Jon Kitland has ten years experience as a Patent Formalities Administrator working for some of the UK's largest private practice firms. He began his career within the Intellectual Property profession at the UK's largest Patent Attorneys. Jon has a vast knowledge of all National, European and Worldwide Patents. Jon is the NetsPat Client Manager and will be heavily involved with the redevelopment of NetsPat, the software as a service (SaaS) IP cost forecasting tool.

September 2008: IP Pragmatics awarded InterAct tender

IP Pragmatics has been successful in winning a three year tender to provide IP commercialisation support for the InterAct Partnership, a unique project which looks to create additional value by combining the IP assets of six of the UK's leading public sector research establishments. June 2008: PSRE4 winners announced

The Public Sector Research Exploitation (PSRE) fund will provide support for 33 successful bidders from across the UK. The money will be used to support the initial stages of commercialising research before third party investment is secured. IP Pragmatics clients were successful in 9 of the 33 winning bids, securing around £8m of the total £30m of government funding available.
